Most
recently second grade students have been working on the creature creation
project. This project focused on the
skills of Sketching: using
short light lines to build your drawing one little piece at time, Chunking: Breaking a drawing
into smaller chunks and only focusing on them one at a time, and using a Visual Model: looking at a
picture or model of something to draw from.
Second graders did a great job of using these techniques to create unique
and creative creatures. Students also
had to create a unique environment for their creation to live in. Students were given choice of colored
pencils, crayons, and markers for their medium
and could mix and match, as they needed.
Great job second grade.
