Leander ISD Art Show 2014

This year the LISD Art Show was a bit earlier than past years, which made it a challenge to get every class represented.  After some last minute additions it worked out that every single grade level classroom was represented in this year’s art show.  It was a great day with so many wonderful examples of how creative and talented the kids of our school are.  I was especially proud of how many families came out to support their young artists.  It was a challenge to capture the truly amazing art that was on display through pictures but here are some of the better ones I was able to capture.  Great Job Faubion Panthers.

Stained Glass Windows

Shade and Tint

3rd grade students recently finished their art rotation by completing an abstract style painting where they had to create their own colors.  Students focused on tint and shade and tried to create an image that used multiple different shades of the same colors.  Students only had access to primary colors and white to create these colors and were required to use a ruler to achieve straight lines in creating their design.  The final product looks very similar to a stained glass window.  Medium for this project was paper, pencil, sharpie, and tempera paint.

Shoes!

Shoe Art

3rd and 4th grade students recently completed this shoe art project by using their own shoe as  visual model and sketching the most realistic version of the shoe they could.  Students also looked at texture, color variation, and shadows to help guide their shading and addition of details.  Students used the Medium of simple paper and pencil to create these very realistic shoes.
